KraussMaffei introduces a groundbreaking development: The new Universal HPS-Physical Foaming screw enables a 30% increase in plasticizing performance for MuCell applications. The technology of physical foaming (MuCell) saves costs, energy, and resources, opening up new possibilities in lightweight construction with a reduced CO2 footprint.

MuCell, a resource-efficient technology, is gaining increasing usage and is a strong growth market. The addition of a physical blowing agent (usually nitrogen) to thermoplastics allows for significant weight savings compared to compact components. Additionally, foaming thin-walled parts enables longer flow paths and results in components with low warpage.

The KraussMaffei HPS-Physical Foaming screw is versatile and offers a 30% higher plasticizing performance. Thanks to a modular concept, the individual screw elements can be combined, providing flexibility in adapting to different materials.
