Amazon enters the field of medicine

Amazon has its fingers in almost anything - even real estate. But now Amazon's market field is expanding even further. The company is buying out One Medical.

One Medical's goal, is to produce and sell medicines cheaply and available. The company also combines the digital world with the real one by opening offices and also making online calls for appointments.

Amazon sees enormous potential for innovation in the medical field. The company says that people had to book appointments months in advance, spending a lot of time to even drive to the doctor. That is now set to change with the acquisition of One Medical.

Amazon will buy out One Medical for $3.9 billion, an 80% premium over what the stock was worth before the deal was announced. However, the deal may be stopped by the respective authorities.

Voices have been raised because Amazon now already has a lot of user data. Now health also comes into play, which most people don't like, such as CNBC or the New York Times.
