Andy Jassy has now spoken. Since Amazon suffered losses in some areas of the business, Amazon will not hire any new employees until 2023, but the workers who leave the company during that time will be replaced by new people.
The memo goes on to say that we are living in an unusual macroeconomic environment and because of that, investments and hiring need to be balanced. This will allow the company to focus on new projects, such as Prime Video, Grocery, Kuiper and Healthcare, among others.
