Amazon's messaging service "Wickr" no longer accepts new users since December 31, 2022.

Amazon has announced that they will shut down the encrypted chat app starting December 31, 2023. New users have already been unable to register since December 31, 2022.
The reason is that on the app child pornography, terrorism, drug trafficking and hacking were not controlled because the app is encrypted. This means you didn't need a phone number to register and so everything was anonymous.
Amazon bought the app in 2021. It was used at the government level, among others. Now Amazon is focusing on a business-to-business model. AWS Wickr andWickr Enterprise will continue to exist.
