AMD acquires Pensando

Microsoft is buying up companies and so is AMD. On April 4, the company announced that they will be buying cloud startup Pensando - and for a tidy sum of money.

AMD is expanding its cloud portfolio with the acquisition of cloud startup Pensando. A whopping $1.9 billion is being invested in it by AMD. The company is a market leader when it comes to manufacturing server processors. Therefore, this acquisition makes sense on AMD's part. The company also offers cloud solutions for companies. Here, too, the acquisition makes sense, because it means that there is one less competitor on the market.
