Apple accidentally fills out tax returns incorrectly in Japan

Apple now has to pay a fine because the company accidentally filled out its tax return incorrectly in Japan.

Apple must pay a 13 billion yen ($98 million) fine for incorrectly exempting sales of iPhones and other Apple products to tourists from tax.

In Japan, sales to tourists who are in the country for less than 6 months are allowed to be excluded from the consumption tax. However, this does not apply to resales of the products. Currently, tax-exempt purchases at Apple in Japan are temporarily no longer possible.
