In collaboration with the Danish company COBOD, Emaar Properties has introduced Dubai's first 3D-printed villa. The three-bedroom, 202-square-meter residence, featuring intricate curved walls and expansive windows, demonstrates the revolutionary potential of 3D printing for unconventional housing concepts.

Although completed in 2019, the project was kept secret until now due to the pandemic. The revealed villa provides insights into the current state of 3D concrete printing technology and assesses its suitability for mass adoption in residential construction.

Dubai aims to conduct a quarter of construction work using 3D printing by 2030. Despite lingering questions about long-term cost-effectiveness compared to traditional building techniques, 3D printing offers environmental benefits by reducing construction waste and carbon emissions.

Integrated smart systems from Xiaomi serve as a testing ground for optimizing efficiency and connectivity in 3D-printed homes. The future of the industry regarding government goals remains uncertain.
