French environmentalists are filing a lawsuit against Apple, claiming the company is wasteful with its resources.

The HOP association is now suing Apple for practices that do not allow users to buy spare parts from competitors and repair a defective Apple device. This affects iPhones in particular.

Thus, opportunities to repair or refurbish the products are impaired. In a similar case in 2020, Apple paid 25 million euros ($26.32 billion) in damages because the company failed to inform users that updates to the operating system could slow down the performance of the device.
