Elon Musk said in an interview with Fox News that he wants to create a new AI chatbot to compete with ChatGPT. He said the chatbot should be called "TruthGPT," which will try to understand nature and the universe and generate only the truths.
Musk accuses OpenAI of being too tied to Microsoft and is also trained to spread misinformation, propaganda and other manipulative opinions. Microsoft has privatized OpenAI and serves only to deliver profits, which Musk believes is wrong.
Musk has already founded a company in the state of Nevada. X.AI Corp currently has Musk as its only board member and Jared Birchall, manager of Musk's family office, as secretary.
TruthGPT is said to be a way to bring the truth to light. Also, Musk's push to set a development break on AI models that are better than GPT-4 seems to have disappeared. "It has the potential to destroy civilization," Musk said.
The billionaire has also already spoken with former U.S. President Barack Obama to introduce AI regulations in the U.S., he said.
