Entrepreneur Elon Musk is planning a visit to China this week, where he will meet with high-ranking officials, including Premier Li Qiang. This trip marks Musk's first visit to the country in three years and is seen as a significant step to further strengthen the relations between Tesla and China.

Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has been planning his trip to China since April and is looking forward to personally meeting Premier Li Qiang. According to insider reports, other prominent officials will also participate in this private meeting, although their names have not been disclosed.

A highlight of the visit will be the tour of the Gigafactory in Shanghai. Tesla plans to expand the factory's production capacity from the current 450,000 vehicles per year to 1.75 million vehicles per year. Initial expansion designs have already been submitted to the relevant authorities. However, they have shown some hesitation as more than 100 different automakers have presented similar plans to ramp up their production.

In a recent interview with CNBC, Musk acknowledged that there are some challenges in expanding in China. However, he emphasized that these difficulties are not due to a lack of demand. When asked about the strained relations between China and the USA, Musk made it clear that this situation should be a concern for everyone.

Furthermore, Tesla is planning to build a factory in Mexico to manufacture the next generation of electric vehicles. These vehicles are expected to be even more affordable than the successful Model 3, which is currently priced at $40,000.
