Kuwait is following the trend of the Gulf states. The Kuwaiti government wants to diversify the economy by investing in cloud infrastructure. Last year, Amazon Web Services opened its first office in Kuwait. Google could follow that up with a new office in the Gulf state.
Kuwait is the third location for Google Cloud, along with Qatar and Saudi Arabia. A sum for the government's investment was not disclosed by either the government or Google.
