Meta wants to create a so-called metaverse, which works similarly to the video game VR Chat. However, the following question is still open: How can the digital universe be made profitable?

To date, Meta offers several apps that are available for free. These are predominantly financed by advertising. It is therefore possible that the company will continue to adhere to its advertising policy and place ads in the Metaverse.
Two variants of this are conceivable: One involves advertising posters, such as those seen at a bus stop - in this case, digital only. The other, which would come off a bit less popular, would be to have advertising videos play - similar to YouTube. This would be better for Meta from a financial perspective, however it wouldn't be good for the user experience.
Therefore, a paid membership similar to Spotify Premium or YouTube Premium is also conceivable. Meta could also launch its own VR goggles for the Metaverse and set the price so high that the servers for the Metaverse can be financed for a few years.
