On Tuesday, March 15, 2022 Mark Zuckerberg showed his vision of the Metaverse and said that this universe will be the "holy grail of social media". However, the whole session was shown exclusively to SXSW registrants and SXSW pass holders. Various media outlets covered it, and among other things, it was said that in the near future NFTs will have a feature on Instagram. The Meta CEO didn't say what way that would happen, but it's safe to assume that it will be similar to Twitter. People will be able to show off their NFT as a profile picture. He also hopes that over time, people will be able to make their own NFTs on the platform. Zuckerberg also thinks that NFTs will play an important role in the future Metaverse.
