Intel today unveiled a new roadmap for investors that shows the releases of upcoming server CPUs. New among them is an energy-efficient chip, Sierra Forest, scheduled to be released in the first half of 2024, according to Sandra Rivera, head of Intel's Data Center and AI Group.
The next-generation Intel Xeon, Emerald Rapids, is scheduled for release later this year. The Granite Rapids series will then be released after Sierra Forest in 2024.
In recent months, Intel has had to deal with delays of the Sapphire Rapids, letting competitor AMD massively catch up with their Epyc Genoa server processors. However, the roadmap has been put back on track with all the technical achievements, Rivera said.
