Intel is partnering with an asset management company that is providing money to build a factory in Chandler, Arizona. Intel finances 51% of the factory and Brookfield finances 49% of the factory, giving Intel control over the factory.
In total, the factory will cost about $30 billion. This is to meet future demand for Intel's products and also provide reliable production for IFS customers, such as MediaTek.
This also benefits the U.S. government, as U.S. President Joe Biden signed the chips bill into law. Thus, the semi-conductor industry is to get $52 billion from the government to keep up with TSMC and others.
