Like every year, Apple releases their new generation of iPhones. The iPhone 13 has already exceeded all expectations, even though it is almost identical to the 12th generation. Will this be repeated with the new smartphones? Leaks are already circulating.
As usual, Apple releases several models of an IPhone. According to the leakers, there will be a standard and a max version. The standard version has a screen diagonal of 6.1 inches (15.5 cm), the Max version 6.7 inches (17 cm). A drastic redesign is also expected, due to changes to the Face ID camera. Forget about the notch at the top of the screen. There will be a small dot there (as already seen on Samsung devices).
According to the leaks, round volume buttons will be used instead of rectangular ones, like in the older iPhones. The material with which the device is built will also change. The iPhone 13 was made of stainless steel, while the newer iPhone 14 is said to be made of titanium. However, that's only available on the iPhone 14 and higher. Everything below that will still be built from aluminum.
Also, the next generation of iPhones is said to have a 48 megapixel camera and is said to be capable of 8K video recording. On the iPhone 14 Pro, the screen is said to have a 120Hz frequency and a resolution of 1170 x 2532 OLED. The regular iPhone 14 has similar specs. The biggest difference with to the Pro, is that the screen only has a 60Hz frequency.
The chip that will be installed in the new iPhone will run on TSMC's "NP4" technology. Apple's A16 chip will serve as the processor here with a 5 nanometer technology. What is once again lacking is RAM. As with the iPhone 13, all variants of the new generation will only have 6GB of RAM. Also, Apple will probably sell again their storage for 10 times what it should. The next iPhone is supposed to have a maximum of 2TB.
Looking at Apple's timeline of presentations, we can expect the iPhone 14 lineup to come out in September 2022. The iPhone Pro will cost around $1099, the iPhone Pro Max $1199.
