Japan could impose milder measures, unlike before. Last month, the Netherlands and Japan joined the U.S. to regulate chip exports to China along the same lines as the U.S. law.
Akari Amari, former economy minister for the Liberal Democratic Party, says the U.S. is strict with the measures. The question, he says, is whether Japan should adopt those same laws. Recognition of the danger remains, however.
