Jeff Bezos, a Yacht, a Bridge and Rotten Eggs

Writer's picture: Alexander FähAlexander Fäh

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has bought a new yacht for just under half a billion. However, there is one small problem. A bridge blocks the Amazon founder's way into the sea. The yacht is too big to sail through the bridge.

The historic bridge Koningshaven is to be dismantled for the Amazon founder, because the 127 meter yacht does not fit under the bridge, because the masts are over 40 meters high. Many people in Rotterdam do not like this and have planned something.

An event has been launched on Facebook called "Throwing eggs at superyacht Jeff Bezos". 13,000 people are interested, 4000 people have said they will participate in this event. The organizer of the event, Pablo Strörmann called on all Rotterdammers to take as many rotten eggs and throw them en masse at the superyacht as it sails through the harbor. However, the whole thing should be taken with a grain of salt, because as we saw during the raid on Area 51, there were very few people present.
