Joe Biden is not stopping with his pro-climate actions. Most recently, he said the Biden Administration will award $2.8 billion for an EV battery production facility.

The administration's plan is clear: local production of batteries is to be strongly encouraged. Production will come from China to the U.S., according to the White House. Production in the U.S. will create good-paying jobs and drive strong demand for electric cars, according to Jennifer Granholm, U.S. energy secretary.
Among other things, the project will be the first large-scale lithium facility to serve 45% of all electric cars by 2030. This is because China currently has all the control over lithium battery production. This will ensure a step towards a more independent future.
