CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on an investor call today that the company sees an opportunity to introduce AI agents in a meaningful and useful way to billions of people. Meta's quarterly report says 2 billion users use Facebook daily.
Zuckerberg's idea is to introduce AI as chatbots in WhatsApp and Messenger. Visual tools will be made available for Instagram and Facebook, and over time will offer video and multi-modal experiences.
Meta wants to make these tools appealing to both businesses and customers. Businesses can use AI to more easily create ad campaigns and better engage with customers.
Meta won't neglect the Metaverse, however. All these AI features are said to be built in to more easily create objects, avatars and worlds. All features are expected to be released in the coming months.
