Last year, Microsoft announced the acquisition of Activision for $69 billion. This was followed by strong concerns from regulators in the EU, US and UK that the group would weaken its competitiveness in the gaming industry. Microsoft rejects these accusations, claiming that the acquisition would strengthen competition.
Today, 19 high-ranking Microsoft employees and executives are going to meet and listen to what the EU's concerns are. Google, NVIDIA, Sony and Electronic Arts will also send representatives to today's hearing. The companies are expected to present their views on the Activision acquisition to the EU Commission.
