Microsoft's Activision deal in danger of failing

Earlier this year, Microsoft announced plans to buy Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion. However, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) wants to stop the deal.

The FTC's complaint is clear: Microsoft has the potential to become a monopoly in the gaming industry. The big concern is that Microsoft can adjust prices and experiences to suit their own needs, so more people would switch to Xbox.

The FTC voted 3-1 to file a lawsuit against Microsoft. The deal will go to court as soon as possible. Microsoft saw the situation back in 1998, as the corporation had a monopoly of operating systems with Windows, severely hurting the competition.

However, Microsoft stresses that all video games will continue to work on Sony consoles, this also includes the Call of Duty franchise. Also, Microsoft says that they have already released Minecraft on other consoles and will do the same with other video games.
