Microsoft's statement on the Activision deal

Microsoft's $69 billion dollar deal with Activision is currently getting a lot of criticism.

Fear for a monopoly; Image: The Verge

It wouldn't be the first time that Microsoft would build a monopoly in an industry. Now, however, fears are rising among everyone that Microsoft is planning to do just that, and in the gaming industry.

Microsoft wrote in a blog post that the deal will allow the industry to grow and appeal to more people - especially with the massive cloud infrastructure that the company owns and will use once the deal goes through.

But the focus is always on the players and developers. Because they make the industry unique. Microsoft wants to give this industry more in the form of Game Pass or a larger game gallery.

There will probably not be a monopoly, as the company is already catching the eye of the authorities. Microsoft has also promised that the next Call of Duty will be released on the PlayStation on the same day as on the Xbox.
