Microsoft will cut jobs - but only 1% of all workers

Many large companies, such as Meta or Salesforce, have stopped hiring employees as sales have dropped. Netflix and Intel go one step further: they do lay off workers. Now Microsoft is following suit.
However, the job cuts affect less than 1% of the total workforce - or fewer than 1,000 employees, according to a Microsoft spokesperson. The reason is that the company had a slowdown in revenue growth - as low as 5 years ago - in the last quarter. On October 25, Microsoft does then publish the current figures.
