Nintendo regularly releases their plans for the future of their video games. This February it was time for Nintendo to release the progress of their video games. Below are the most noteworthy games that were presented at the Direct.

Mario Strikers Battle League
An epic trailer was presented at the Direct for the successor of the Smash Football series. The trailer showed gameplay footage from the football game. Among other things, each character in the game will have a special shot with which you can score a goal. Also two helpful tips were given, with which one can play better. On the one hand, you can increase the statistics, such as strength, speed and shot, by buying equipment. On the other hand, you can perform a "Hyper Shot" by collecting a pearl on the field. If you activate this shot, then you have the possibility to score two goals at once. This game can be played up to eight players on a Nintendo Switch. Also, the game will offer an online mode, which means you can play this game together with players around the world. But whether this will eventually run fluently, that remains to be seen. The game will be released on June 10 and will cost $59.99.
Splatoon 3: Salmon Run
Right after the trailer of Mario Strikers Battle League, a trailer was played in which Splatoon footage could be found. The Salmon Run is also coming to Splatoon 3! New bosses, new enemies, new weapons, new special features. The Salmon Run is about defeating the bosses. These then leave golden fish eggs and you have to bring them to a cage, the minimum number of eggs is given at the beginning. If you don't reach the goal, you lose. In the trailer, the new feature of egg throwing was introduced, which allows the player to throw the golden eggs to another player or directly into the cage. The game is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2022 and will probably cost (just like its predecessors) $59.99. According to Eurogamer, a secret QR code was found in the presentation. If you scan it, you'll get the date: August 18, 2022.

Kirby and the forgotten Land
After a few 3rd party games, it's the turn of the 3D Kirby game. In the trailer, Kirby is attacked by 3 small, furry dogs and then sucks them in. In the background is a car, which also gets sucked in at the same time. Yes, Kirby became a car.

If you think it can't get any weirder, I'm sorry to disappoint you. You can also turn into a vending machine. If you have this function then you can kill the enemies with cans. In the trailer, many more abstruse functions were mentioned, such as transforming into a pylon, an elevator, a light bulb, a glider or even a water balloon.
While you save the land from the enemies, a small town builds up from the rescued characters. There you can upgrade Kirby, upgrade his abilities and buy weapons. Kirby and the Forgotten Land arrives on March 25 and will cost $59.99.
Nintendo Switch Sports
Wii Sports finally gets its successor. However, it doesn't fare well with many. That's because it only includes the following sports (fewer than Wii Sports Resorts):
Tennis
Football
Sword fighting
Bowling
Badminton
Volleyball
Golf (in an update in autumn)
Of course you can play all sports online against friends. But if this will work with Nintendo's servers...
With the sport football you get with the physical version of the game also a band for the leg, on which you can strip a Joy-Con. Thus, they want to provide an optimal gaming experience by making you shoot with your leg. The game comes on April 29, 2022 and costs $39.99.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC
Unfortunately, no new Mario Kart part is presented. However, a DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is coming. The Booster Course Pass. This offers 48 new tracks, which will be unlocked by the end of 2023. Many tracks will reappear from old Mario Kart games, such as Coconut Mall. The 48 tracks will be unlocked over 6 waves. The first one will be released on March 18 and costs $24.99.
