Pentagon signs $9 billion deal with Google, Oracle, Amazon and Microsoft

The four largest cloud companies will get a total of $9 billion from the Pentagon. The deal is expected to last until 2028.

The Pentagon has decided that the never-ending cloud issue will be solved by multiple companies instead of just one. Microsoft, Google, Oracle and Amazon will receive a combined $9 billion.

Donald Trump proposed during his presidency that the Pentagon choose only one cloud provider. However, multiple companies are better because you can work more independently. Even more so if cloud doesn't work for one provider.

Last year, the Pentagon asked Amazon, Google, Oracle and Microsoft for bids. However, according to the General Services Administration, only Amazon and Microsoft met the Pentagon's requirements at that time.
