The partnership between Avante Technology and Mind in a Box introduces a royalty-free AMF viewer and source code, simplifying the integration of the AMF file format into additive manufacturing.
The AMFsample application allows the conversion of STL to AMF files with ISO standard compliance and provides a user-friendly visualization of the 3D mesh.
Avante Technology and Mind in a Box Set New Standards in 3D Printing with Groundbreaking AMF Viewer.
In collaboration with Mind in a Box, Avante Technology has announced the release of a royalty-free AMF file format 3D mesh viewer and related source code. The groundbreaking AMFsample application facilitates seamless integration of the AMF file format into CAD and other applications in additive manufacturing.
The goal of the collaboration is to develop, publish, and support AMF v1.2 reference software, the AMF v1.2 online viewer, and the AMFtools.org portal as an information hub for the ISO/ASTM AMF format and standard.
The AMFsample application, scheduled for release this month, allows the conversion of STL files to the AMF format, ensuring ISO 52915:20 compliance. Users can visually inspect the 3D mesh, rotate and zoom, and save in AMF or revert to STL. The accompanying AMFcore source code will be available for royalty-free download via AMFtools.org in Q1 2024, optimized for Linux, Mac, and Windows.
The Additive Manufacturing Format (AMF) is the international standard file format for additive manufacturing, supporting diverse features such as multiple materials, composite materials, colors, assemblies, and lattice structures. The flexibility of the AMF format extends to various metadata fields, allowing the integration of copyright, patent, and licensing information, as well as security-related data.
