China's most populous city is preparing investments for Chinese tech companies that have a focus on chip design, artificial intelligence and circuitry. The city plans investments of up to 100 million yuan ($14.47 million) for each company, according to a government statement.
Shanghai supports the idea of an independent tech industry in the country. These investments will accelerate industrial development and construction of advanced industrial systems, the government said.
