T-Mobile confirms data leak of 37 million subscribers

The third-largest wireless carrier in the U.S. today confirmed a data breach of 37 million subscribers.

The third-largest wireless carrier by users in the U.S. today confirmed that 37 million users were victims of a cyberattack on Jan. 5. Within a day, the malicious activity was contained. Affected users will be notified of this condition in the coming weeks.


The data breach did not involve sensitive information confirmed T-Mobile. Only basic information was hacked, such as last name, first name, address, email and phone number.


Last year, T-Mobile accepted to pay a $350 million fine due to a major data leak and subsequently invested another $150 million in the company's cybersecurity.
