TikTok collaborates with Oracle

One of the largest social media platforms is collaborating with one of the largest companies in the world. From now on, TikTok will store the data of American users on Oracle's servers.

TikTok announced last Friday that all of its American users' data will be stored on Oracle's servers. The backup servers will be in Virginia and Singapore. However, all private data of users will be deleted on them, according to Albert Calamug, Head of TikTok's US Security and public policy.

Calamug added that TikTok is the platform most scrutinized for privacy and security. TikTok now wants to fully remove that doubt.

Already today, 100% of all data is redirected to Oracle's cloud infrastructure. However, it remains to be seen whether ByteDance, the company that owns TikTok and has its headquarters in China, will have access to this data.
